Working with data grid views
In the v10 Web Application, all customizations that you perform in a data grid can be saved in a customized view. This enables you to keep in memory your preferences related to a specific data grid.
The following data grid customizations can be saved in views:
Column definition (see Managing the columns of a data grid)
Filters (see Filtering a data grid)
Sorting (see Sorting the data of a data grid)
Grouping (see Grouping the Data of a Data Grid in Customizing the data grid view)
Row density (see Defining the Density of the Rows in a Data Grid in Customizing the data grid view)
Number of rows per grid page (see Defining the Number of Rows Displayed per Data Grid Page in Customizing the data grid view)
This article outlines the procedures for:
In addition, if the corresponding Feature Flag has been activated in your system and you are an authorized admin user, you can also perform the following actions:
Share a view with one or several profiles (see Sharing a data grid view)
Edit a shared data grid view (see Editing a shared data grid view)
Define a default view on a data grid for a given profile (see Defining the default view for a profile)
Revoke the sharing of a view to one or several profile (see Unsharing a data grid view)
Creating a view
To create a view that you will be able to reuse at any time for a given data grid, proceed as follows:
Open the data grid in which you want to work (see Viewing a Data Grid in About data grids in the v10 Application).

Open the view management tool, located in the toolbar above the data grid.

Open the view management tool, located in the toolbar above the data grid.
In the tool, click Reset Grid Controls. All the customizations to the data grid are cleared.
Administering data grid views
This section details the operations related to the administration of views in data grids. When a view has been created and saved in a data grid, authorized users can perform the following actions:
Share or unshare the view (see Sharing a Data Grid View and Unsharing a Data Grid View)
Edit a the shared view (see Editing a Shared Data Grid View)
Define default views for profiles (see Defining the Default View for a Profile)
Sharing a data grid view
Provided that your profile has been granted the proper rights, you can share a data grid view that you have created for a grid with one or several profiles. To do so, proceed as follows:
Open the data grid with which you want to work (see Viewing a Data Grid in About data grids in the v10 Application).
Open the view management tool located in the toolbar above the data grid.
Click the
icon located at the right of the name of the view that you want to share.
Click Share View. A contextual list that contains available profiles is opened.
Check, in the list, the boxes corresponding to the profiles with which you want to share the view, as illustrated in the following figure:
Profile selection list
Click outside of the list to confirm your selection. The view is now shared with the selected profile(s).
Editing a shared data grid view
Two different methods to push changes to users are possible when the definition of a shared data grid view is modified:
You can choose to apply the changes the next time the user selects the view (soft push)
You can choose to apply the changes immediately (hard push)
To edit a shared data grid view, proceed as follows:
Open the data grid and the view in which you want to work.
Perform the changes required on the view (see Customizing the Data Grid View).
Open the view management tool located in the data grid toolbar, above the grid.
Click the
icon located at the right of the name of the current view.
Click Save Changes. A contextual window is opened, as illustrated in the following figure:
Shared view modification
-
Select the option you want to use to push the changes to users:
Save: this is the "soft push" option. The changes to the view are saved, but are not forced on the users. They will see the changes to the view the next time they explicitly select this view in the view management tool.
Save and Push: this is the "hard push" option. The changes to the view are saved and are enforced for all users of the view. This means that if users had made changes to the view and had not saved them in a view of their own, they will lose these customizations.
Defining the default view for a profile
A specific section, dedicated to the management of default views per profile, is available directly from the data grid interface. From this page, you can assign a default view for each profile to which at least one view has been shared (see Sharing a Data Grid View).
To assign a default data grid view to a profile, proceed as described hereafter.
Open the data grid in which you want to work.
Open the data grid view management tool, located in the toolbar above the grid.
In the tool, click Manage Default Views, as illustrated in the following figure:
Default view management access
The default view management page is opened on top of the currently opened data grid (i.e. the data grid remains open in the background, with your current work), as illustrated in the following figure:
Default view management page
This page contains all the shared views and displays a checkbox in the row corresponding to each profile with which a given view has been shared.
Check the box corresponding to the view you want to assign as the default view in the row corresponding to each profile. Keep in mind that you can only assign one default view per profile.
Click Save in the lower-right corner of the application window. The default view definition is saved in the system and will be applied as defined when users next log into the system.
Unsharing a data grid view
When a data grid has been shared with one or several profiles, you still have the possibility to cancel the sharing to those profiles. To do so, proceed as follows:
Open the data grid in which you want to work.
Open the view management tool, located in the toolbar above the data grid.
In the tool, locate the view that you want to modify and then click
at the right of the name of the view.
Click Share View.
In the contextual menu that is displayed, uncheck the box corresponding to each profile for which you want to revoke access to the view.
Click outside of the contextual menu. The changes are saved and the view is unshared.
