Managing the basic view feature
This section details the procedures related to the basic features when working with views in a process grid, namely:
Viewing a process
To view a process, proceed as follows (the following procedure is valid for both process grids and process forms):
Open the "Process" component by clicking
in the navigation bar. By default, the first item in the Select a Hierarchy and Process fields are selected (and the corresponding process grid/form is displayed).
Select or type a hierarchy name in the Hierarchies drop-down list.
Select the process that you want to view in the Process drop-down list.
Select a node in the hierarchy tree, under the hierarchy selection field. You can either browse the tree or perform a search (see Searching for an Object in a Tree in Working with object trees). The process grid/form is updated on the fly.
Creating a view
To create a view that you will be able to reuse for a given process grid at any time during your work, proceed as follows:
Open the process for which you want to create a view (see Viewing a process).
-
Perform all the customizations that you want to save as a view.
When ad hoc customizations have been done, but not saved yet, a blue bullet is displayed next to the View button, as illustrated in the following figure:
Pending customizations
Click View, in the far left of the process grid toolbar. A contextual menu is opened, as illustrated in the following figure:
Creating a new view
Enter a name for your view in the View field.
Click Save. The new view is saved in the system and is automatically applied to the process grid. Additionally, the view management button (My Views) is now labeled as the name of the new view.
Changing the applied view
Once one or several views have been created for a process grid, the last used view is applied when you display a process grid (if no view has been created, then the default view, with the potential ad hoc filters, is displayed). You can however, change the view applied to the grid at any time.
To change the current process grid view, proceed as follows:
Open the process with which you want to work (see Viewing a process).
Click the view management button, located in the left of the process grid toolbar (the name of the currently selected view is displayed; if the default view is used, then the button is labeled View). A contextual menu containing all the saved views is displayed, as illustrated in the following figure:
View selection
Select the view that you want to apply by clicking its name in the list. The view is applied to the process grid and the label of the view management button is changed to the name of this view.
Renaming a view
To change the name of an existing view, proceed as follows:
Open the relevant process (see Viewing a process).
Click the view management button (My Views or the name of the currently selected view).
In the contextual menu that is displayed, locate the view that you want to rename.
Click the
icon, located at the right of the view name. A new contextual menu is opened, as illustrated in the following figure:

Type the new name in the name field. As soon as you start editing the name of the view, two new buttons are available at the right of the name field, as illustrated in the following figure:

Click the
icon to confirm your changes (if the name you have entered already exists, a red warning message is displayed and you cannot save the new name). The new name of the view is saved in the system.
Editing the definition of a view
You can edit the definition of a view (i.e. the customizations saved in the view) at any time during your work in the beqom application. To do so, proceed as follows:
Open the process with which you want to work (see Viewing a process).
Select the view that you want to edit using the view management button (see Changing the applied view).
Perform all the changes that you need in the grid.
Click the view management button (in this case, it corresponds to the name of the view). The view management contextual menu is displayed.
Click the

Click Save changes, as illustrated in the following figure:

The new definition of the view is saved in the system.
Deleting a view
To delete a view, proceed as follows:
Open the process with which you want to work (see Viewing a process).
Click the view management button, located at the left of the process grid toolbar, above the process grid. The view management contextual menu is displayed.
Locate, in the list of saved views, the view that you want to delete.
Click the
icon located at the right of the name of the view. A second contextual menu is displayed.
Click Delete view, as illustrated in the following figure:

The view is deleted from the system.
Returning to Default View
If a default view has been configured for your profile and if you have applied customizations to that view or changed the current view, you can easily go back to the default view configuration.
To return to the default view configured for your profile, proceed as follows:
Open the process grid in which you want to work. Make sure a default view is applied.
Apply some customizations to the grid or change the current view (see Customizing the Process Grid View in Working with process grids or Changing the applied view).
Open the view management tool.
Click the Return to Default View button. The default view is automatically loaded.
Resetting the grid controls
Considering that all the customizations that you perform on a process grid are retained for the hierarchy/process pair, you might want or need to reset the view and clear all the customizations.
To reset all the grid controls, proceed as follows:
Open a process grid with which you want to work.
Open the view management tool from the grid header.
Click the Reset Grid Controls button. All the customizations performed in the process grid are cleared.
