Managing simulations
This section describes the features and procedure related to simulations in the beqom application.
The Simulation component enables you to perform different actions:
Viewing a simulation report
When you open a simulation scenario, you can view the report of the simulation directly from the interface. The report displayed can be an SSRS report, an ad hoc report or an Advanced Analytics report, depending on the configuration of the simulation scenarios.
To view a simulation scenario report, proceed as follows:
Open the "Simulations" component.
Locate the process for which you want to see a simulation scenario report.
Expand the list of simulation scenarios for the process by clicking the chevron located on the left of the process name.
Click the scenario whose report you want to view; the report is displayed in the center panel, at the right of the process list, as illustrated in the following figure:

This is an note/information message.
The simulation parameters are displayed in a frame located under the list of processes. In the figure above, the frame contains information about the population and the rules used in the simulation.
Running a simulation scenario
You can execute a simulation scenario in order to see the impact of certain changes. To execute a simulation scenario, proceed as follows:
Open the "Simulations" component.
Select the scenario that you want to edit in the list of available simulation scenarios, and then click the Edit simulation button, located in the bottom right corner of the application window. The simulation scenario is opened, as illustrated in the following figure:

You can view the process grid attached to the simulation scenario in the "Process" tab and use most the same customization features (see Working with process grids) as in the "Rules" component, as well as the import and export features (see Importing Data Into a Process Grid and Exporting the Data of a Process Grid in Data management in process grids).
Click Run and analyze in the upper right corner of the application window. The scenario is run; once the simulation is finished running, a result window is opened, as illustrated in the following figure:

Click Close to close the result window and return to the simulation scenario.
Cloning a simulation scenario
The v10 application enables you to duplicate a simulation scenario directly from the interface of the Web Application.
To clone a simulation scenario, proceed as follows:
Open the "Simulations" component.
Locate the process for which you want to clone a scenario in the list of processes.
Expand the list of scenarios available for the process by clicking the down chevron at the left of the process name.
Locate the scenario that you want to copy in the list of scenarios available for the process.
Click the
icon located at the right of the scenario label. The following contextual window opens:

Click Copy. A success message is displayed, and a new, identical scenario is created, with the following format name: <ScenarioName>(copy).
This is an note/information message.
It is not possible to rename the new simulation scenario from the Web Application interface. This operation must be performed in the Admin Portal interface.
Deleting a simulation scenario
While it is not possible to create a simulation scenario from the v10 Web Application, it is however possible to delete one from the Web App.
To delete a simulation scenario, proceed as follows:
Open the "Simulations" component.
In the "Processes" list, locate the process for which you want to delete a simulation scenario.
Expand the list of scenarios for the process by clicking the down chevron located on the left of the process name.
In the list, locate the scenario that you want to delete.
Click the
icon at the right of the scenario line. A confirmation message is displayed.
Click delete in the confirmation pop-up. A success message is displayed and the scenario is deleted from the system.
