Exporting and importing the data of a process grid
Exporting the data of a process grid
The v10 application offers you two possibilities to export a process grid into an Excel file that you can view and manipulate outside of the v10 application:
Basic process export: this feature enables you to export the data of a process grid, in a raw format, without macros and without logic (data operations, conditional validation, drop-down lists, etc.), in the state in which the process currently exists in the application. This type of export results in an Excel file that can be easily manipulated and used for modeling as a means to facilitate decision-making in the beqom application. Files exported using the basic export feature cannot be re-imported into the beqom application. For more information about basic export, see Using the basic process grid export.
Standard process export: this feature (which is the historic type of export offered in the v10application) enables you to export a macro-enabled field that mirrors the process grid as it is in the beqom application, with all the logic applied to the grid. This type of export can be used to actually work on the process grid offline before reimporting the data into the v10application. For more information about standard export, see Using the standard process grid export.
Using the basic process grid export
To use the process basic export and export the raw data of a process grid into Excel, proceed as follows:
Open the process grid with which you want to work (see "Process" component overview).
-
Click the basic export button, located in the lower-left corner of the process grid window:
If both basic and standard export are enabled for the process grid: click Export, and then click Basic Export in the contextual menu that is displayed.
If only the basic export is enabled for the process grid, click Basic Export
The following figure illustrate the interface depending on the type(s) of export available for the process grid:
Basic export with both types of export available
Depending on the configuration of your system, the "Enter a Password" window might be displayed.
-
If prompted:
Enter a password in the Password field. When the field is green, the password is valid.
Confirm the password in the Re-enter Password field. If the entered passwords do not match, an error message is displayed and the field is circled in red. When the field is green, the password matches the one entered in the Password field.
Certain rules for password length and composition might be enforced. For more information, refer to your system administrator.
Click Export in the lower-right corner of the "Enter a Password" window. The download process is started. When the download is in progress, a download box is displayed in the upper right corner of the application. You can continue working. Once the file is generated, a download link is displayed in the file download box.
Click the download link in the download box, as illustrated in the following figure:

Using the standard process grid export
To use the process standard export and export a mirror version of a process grid into Excel, proceed as follows:
Open the process grid with which you want to work (see Viewing a Process).
-
Click the standard export button, located in the lower-left corner of the process grid window:
If both basic and standard export are enabled for the process grid: click Export, and then click Standard Export in the contextual menu that is displayed.
If only the basic export is enabled for the process grid, click Export

Importing data into a process grid
If you have exported process grid data and worked on it offline, you can then synchronize the data by importing the file.
To import data, proceed as follows:
Open the process grid in which you want to import data (see "Process" component overview).
Click Import at the bottom of the grid. A file browser window opens.
Search for and select locally the file that you want to import.
If a password pop-up window opens, then enter the password (see Exporting the data of a process grid).
Click Import.
