Creating a Population
Provided that your user has been granted the required rights, you can create a population in the v10 application. To do so, proceed as follows:
Open the "Populations" component, but do not select a population in the tree.
Click Create a new population in the Center Panel of the application. A pop-up window is displayed, as illustrated in the following figure:
Population creation
Enter a name for the new population in the Population name field.
Select a universe in the Universe Name field.
Click Create at the bottom of the pop-up. A success message is displayed at the top of the window and the population details panel is now available at the right of the population tree. The information that you already provided (population name and universe) are found in the "Properties" tab.
In the "Criteria" tab, define the payee selection criteria (see Defining the Population Criteria). You can check the payees corresponding to the defined criteria in the "Preview" tab (see Viewing the Payees in a Population).
Click Save in the bottom right corner of the application. The new population is saved in the system.
Defining the population criteria
Once you have created a population, you need to define the criteria that will determine which payees belong to the population.
To define population criteria, proceed as follows:
Open the population that you want to configure (see Viewing a Population).
-
Open the "Criteria" tab:
In the "Operators" section, you can see the list of all available operators to create a condition.
In the "Business Objects" section, you can see all available criteria.
The "Objects Values" section displays all values available for the selected criterion.
In the "Criteria" section, define your formula. You can type a criterion name, an operator and then a value (if you want, you can insert a value from the "Objects Values" section by clicking the Add button on the right of the criterion). The system suggests criteria and values to you as you type, as illustrated in the following figure:
Condition creation
If required, you can add another condition using the "AND" and "OR" operators.
Click Test in the bottom-right corner to check that the condition is valid. If your condition is valid, a success message is displayed at the top of the application window. (If your condition is not valid, a red error message is displayed. In this case, correct your formula, and then test it again.)
In the "Preview" tab, you can check which payees are retrieved by the defined condition.
Click Save in the bottom right corner of the application window. A success message is displayed and the population criteria are saved.
Editing a Population
To edit an existing population, proceed as follows:
Open the population that you want to edit (see Viewing a Population).
-
Perform the necessary changes:
In the "Properties" tab, you can rename the population and change the universe.
In the"Criteria" tab, you can add, edit or delete population selection criteria (see Defining the Population Criteria).
Click Save in the bottom right corner of the application. A success message is displayed and the changes are saved.
