Managing items using the environment manager
The Admin component offers you the possibility to move items from one environment to another, according to a defined pipeline. This feature, known as the "environment manager" enables you to migrate items from one environment to another directly from the interface, without any script or without needing to recreate the items manually.
This tool offers a considerable time gain when moving from a testing environment to a production environment, but also to avoid errors and oversights when migrating environments.
The environment manager enables you to share and migrate the following item types:
Data grids
Rules
Forms
The environment manager tool offers three distinct features:
The pipeline visualizer, which enables you to view the pipelines in which the current environment is included. For more information, see Viewing the pipelines in which an environment is included.
The package manager, which enables you to create packages containing items, create package snapshots and then push the snapshots to the next environment in the pipeline. For more information about the package manager, see Working with the package manager.
The release manager, which enables you to release available snapshots, validate the contents of the package, and then push validated snapshots to next environment in the pipeline (if any). For more information about the release manager, see Working with the release manager.
