Managing your profile
In the v10 application, a profile is linked to the accesses and authorizations given to a user. In this section, learn how to define a default profile for your user and change your current profile if your user has been assigned with different profiles (e.g. administrator and manager).
The following procedures are performed in the User component, under the "Profile" page.
Defining a default profile
If several profiles have been assigned to your user, you can, at any time during your work in the v10, change the default profile for your user.

The original configuration of the default profile is performed by the system administrator. If the system administrator did not specify a default profile, the system will take at login the first available profile for your user. The system however, does not set that profile as your default profile. The Default Profile field will remain empty until a default profile is defined for your user, either by you or by your administrator.
To define a default profile or change the default profile for your user, proceed as follows:
In the Default Profile drop-down list, select the profile that you want to use as the default profile for your user.
Click Save in the lower-right corner of the application window. Your change is saved in the system. At your next login, you will be automatically logged in using the selected profile.
Changing your current profile
If several profiles have been assigned to your user, you can, at any time during your work in the v10, switch profiles.
To change the current profile of your user, proceed as follows:
In the Switch Profile drop-down list, select the profile with which you want to work.
Click Save in the lower-right corner of the application window. Your change is saved and the profiles are switched on-the-fly.

The profile selection is retained for the current session only. At your next login, the default profile will be selected again. To change the default profile for your user, see the section above.

Depending on the configuration of your application, deep links with an automatic profile switch mechanism might be configured to be used from the application home page. These links usually direct to a process and specify that the process should be viewed with a specific profile. In this case, the application will automatically change your profile to the one specified in the link configuration.
Using the quick profile switch
The quick profile switch feature enables you to quickly change the profile that you are currently using without having to navigate to the User component, and therefore without losing your work context.
This is especially useful if you need to perform several operations in processes with different profiles.
To use the quick profile feature, proceed as follows:
Without navigating out of your current work context, hover your mouse cursor over the small white triangle located in the bottom right corner of the User component item of the navigation bar. A contextual menu is displayed, as illustrated in the following figure:

Click the name of the profile that you want to use in the contextual menu. A success message is displayed and you are immediately switched to this profile.

If you change your profile using the quick switch profile feature when you are working in a process, if the target profile does not have access to the current context in which you are working (process, hierarchy, node), an error message will be displayed and a blank page will be displayed.
